Go Jetter Storyboard showreel Part 1

3 sequences from 3 of the episodes I worked on for Go Jetters Series 2.
As more episodes air, I'll do a second showreel for other episodes.

These boards are made using a software called Panelforge. Using simplified versions of the Assets (t-poses, no rigging) and 3d environment I create each panel in 3D first in 'Stage' mode. Then I switch over to 'Canvas' mode and add movement and expressions.

I've also written one of the episodes) Its been very hush hush, This is probably the first image of the final Digby and friends available on the internet, before there was just the original pilot and old designs when it was aimed at a much younger audience (I've also included below- its very interesting how far it's come) MORE SOON!!!

EMPTY POOLS - Slack Tide

Its finally available! Premiered on the Guardian Website!

"For the deliciously crumpled sweetness of their new single Slack Tide, the band decided to create possibly one of the most charmingly depressing animated videos of all time. Directed by Francesca Adams (and premiered here), the video shows a sad cartoon man going through the daily monotonies of life as he struggles to cope with living on a series of circular planets. In the end, well, he just jumps off the metaphorical treadmill." (-Extract from the Guardian)

Alan is fed up of his day to day routine and decides to take the saying 'Stop the world, I want to get off' quite literally.

Slack Tide... Coming... Er... Eventually.... (O_O)

I've been working on a music video for the single Slack Tide by a band called Empty Pools for the past few months, and its almost finished! :D

Hit some render issues and general... 'This file is far too big to handle without splitting it into 12+ files'. And the fact that I have just one computer have made what should have been a weeks work into almost an extra month (@_@) BUT the end (the real end this time!) is in sight.

The Official release of Slack Tide by Empty Pools will be in a week or so. But until then, I thought I'd post some stills and a link to the song :D

The track 'Slack Tide' by 'Empty Pools' is now available :D

Anger Management

From my first year at the NFTS, this is my 'Project Two' film.
Project two focused on character development and gave us the chance to work with voice actors for the first time.

The only rules we had was using our character, and someone else's- we have to make them hug.
My character was 'Simon', a Bat with anger management issues... the character I got was 'Vincent', an elderly Cartographer who is bitter with the world... not the most likely to hug.

The film is done completely in Biro (Ball point Pen) on paper (using a light box) Being in able to make mistakes sped me up- as I only had a few weeks to make the film.
The set up is- Simon and Vincent meet in the canteen of a community centre. Vincent has been to Calligraphy class, Simon to Anger management.

My Top animating speed on this project was 112 Frames (Individual drawings) a day- but I did have to sellotape the Biro to my hand, due to RSI...  I could only keep up that speed for about 2 days (@_@)

Character of Place

Ok, so I've finally gotten around to uploading some of my NFTS First year projects.
This is my Character of Place project, and one of the most fun to make!
We worked with the Cinematographers and Production Designers to create a short Pixilation/ Stopmotion animated film.
We had 5 Days to plan what we were going to film, Build and light the set, Animate the film, strike the set, and edit (O_O)
Mad... but SO much fun!!!!

Naturally with it being Pixilation... I went the easy horror route :P ... also in props stores there were loads of hospital stuff for us to scavenge... and the NFTS also has an awesome SFX Department.
